About The Book: This book contain that from his personal experience in North India, Author found myself alone and swiftly traveling along the railway line that stretches for over a thousand miles, ultimately leading to Delhi. Throughout the lengthy journey, there was a scarcity of noteworthy sights or distractions to alleviate the monotony. He cannot recall encountering any tunnels along the entire route. Their path occasionally took his near the banks of the Ganges, although not consistently close, as well as across vast plains, occasionally skirting a low range of hills resembling a shoreline in this vast expanse of fertile soil. The towns they passed through offered limited visibility and the locals at the station houses resembled the people they encountered elsewhere. They hurriedly made their way, filled with anxious urgency, striving to secure their seats while burdened with bundles of their household belongings. About The Author: Norman Macleod (1812-1872) was a Scottish clergyman and author who held the position of Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 1869/70. He believed in a national Established Church and remained in the Church despite the Disruption of 1843. Macleod took a middle course during the non-intrusion controversy, advocating for the judgment of parish appointments by presbyteries. He settled in Dalkeith after the secession of 1843 and played a significant role in strengthening the Church. Macleod co-founded the Evangelical Alliance in 1847 and edited the Christian Instructor from 1849. In 1851, he became the minister of the Barony church in Glasgow, where he implemented practical social reform initiatives and gained popularity. Macleod edited the monthly magazine Good Words from 1860, making it widely popular. He authored various literary works, including the notable "Reminiscences of a Highland Parish" (1867). His journey to Egypt, Palestine, and Syria in 1864 was documented in "Eastward, Travels in Egypt, Palestine, and Syria."
